Finances. At heartland.k10 we are seeking to please God with the way we use our money. We are financial creatures; that is the reality of our world. But the story of God is that we are not defined by how much we can make or spend in this life. At h.k10 we are seeking to understand how we can find a healthy view of money and use what we have to build the Kingdom of God. The culture of our church has always been one of generosity and giving. Though we don’t want money to be a detractor, we want to offer people the opportunity to be generous in support of the community. There are several ways in which you can participate in h.k10 through financial giving. The easiest is to show up on Sunday and give when we take an offering. We do this to support the idea that giving to support the church is an act of worship – a physical form of self-sacrificial love and obedience. Another way to participate is to mail checks to the church office at: Heartland.k10 A final way to participate financially in our community is to simply take care of each other. The short history of h.k10 is replete with stories of generosity such as no-interest loans in times of trouble, house payments being made, cars given away, etc. We seek to be a church which embraces the reality that we are all connected to each other. The less tightly we hold to our financial means, the more we learn that our generosity actually breaks the hold of materialism on our lives and frees us up to follow Jesus more closely.
